This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process your personal information when you use Moodo (the "App") and our related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use our App, and information from third-party sources. We practice data minimization and do not require or ask you to provide demographic information such as your gender or age.

A. Information You Provide to Us Directly

• Account Information (if any): To use our cloud storage and sync features, you must create or log into an account. You can choose to register and log in using your Google account, Apple account (including via Apple Private Relay), phone number, or email address. Depending on the method you choose, we will collect the relevant identifiers (e.g., email address, phone number, or third-party authentication tokens) to secure your account, verify your identity, and sync your data.
• Mood & Journal Data: We collect the information you input into Moodo, including your daily mood selections, associated emotions, triggers, and daily journal text entries.
• AI Chat Data: When you interact with our AI chat feature for mood analysis, we collect the content of your conversations, prompts, and inputs to provide you with relevant feedback and judgments.
• User-Generated Content: Any AI-generated visual cards that you choose to save, share, or download.
• Feedback & Support: Information you provide when you contact us for customer support, provide feedback, or participate in surveys.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Device & Usage Data: We automatically collect service-related, diagnostic, and performance information. This includes your IP address, device ID (such as IDFV), operating system, app version, language preferences, and information about how you interact with Moodo (e.g., pages viewed, features used, timestamp of mood logs).
• Subscription & Transaction Data: If you purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is processed by the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your credit card details. We only receive a secure receipt token and anonymous subscription status to unlock premium features (e.g., cloud storage, advanced AI features).

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We process your personal information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.

• To Provide and Maintain the Service: To operate Moodo, manage your account, sync your historical mood records to the cloud, and provide a visual representation of your moods over time.
• To Power Artificial Intelligence Features: We use your mood inputs, journal entries, and chat prompts to generate customized visual cards and provide AI-driven mood analysis and judgment. (Note: We use third-party AI service providers via API. Your data is used strictly to generate your requested content and is NOT used to train public AI models).
• To Process Subscriptions: To verify your subscription status and grant access to premium features.
• To Improve the App: To analyze usage trends, troubleshoot bugs, and improve the accuracy and helpfulness of our features and AI models.
• To Communicate with You: To send administrative information, onboarding instructions, security alerts, and responses to your customer support requests.
• To Ensure Security: To monitor against fraud, unauthorized access, and protect the integrity of our Services.

3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do NOT sell your personal information, including your mood data or journal entries, to data brokers or advertising platforms under any circumstances. We only share information with trusted third parties in the following situations:

• Service Providers & Data Processors: We share information with vendors that perform services on our behalf. These include:
  • Cloud Hosting Providers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) to securely store your account and encrypted mood data.
  • AI Technology Providers (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini) via secure APIs to power the AI visual card generation and AI chat analysis. We ensure these providers have strict data deletion policies and do not retain your personal data for their own model training.
  • Analytics Providers (e.g., Firebase, Apple Analytics) to help us understand App performance and crashes.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the buyer adhering to this Privacy Policy.
• Legal Obligations & Safety: We may disclose your information if legally required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or the public.

4. IN-APP TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Like many modern mobile applications, we use Software Development Kits (SDKs) to make our App function correctly.

• Technical & Essential SDKs: Used to maintain the core functionality of Moodo, such as managing your login session or processing your App Store subscription.
• Analytics SDKs: (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics) Used to measure traffic, evaluate app performance, and identify bugs. You can manage your tracking preferences through your iOS device settings.

5. DATA RETENTION AND ACCOUNT DELETION

Data Retention: We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Services. If you stop using Moodo but do not delete your account, we will securely retain your data in the cloud so you can access your historical mood records upon returning.

Account Deletion (if any): If you have created or logged into an account within our App, you have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data. You can exercise this right instantly within Moodo by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account.

Once initiated, your account, login credentials, mood history, journal entries, and AI chat logs will be permanently deleted from our active production servers. (Note: Residual copies may remain in secure backup systems for a limited time up to 30 days due to automated backup cycles before being fully erased).

6. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Our servers are primarily located in the United States. If you are accessing our App from outside this region, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us and our third-party service providers in other countries. We take all necessary measures to ensure your personal information is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: You can edit your journal entries and profile information directly within Moodo.
• Deletion: As mentioned in Section 5, you can delete your data at any time via Moodo settings.
• Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on consent to process your data, you may withdraw it at any time.

For California Residents (CCPA):

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA, or older if required by applicable local laws). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without verified parental consent, we will take steps to securely delete that information from our servers.

9. DATA SECURITY

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including encryption in transit and at rest) to protect your highly sensitive mood and journal data. However, please understand that no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You provide information to us at your own risk. Please keep your account credentials secure.

10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. If we make material changes, we will notify you by prominently posting a notice within Moodo. We encourage you to review this policy frequently.
